Magnificient food and the best, friendliest and most genuine service I ever see! If you ever go there, you should check out Ruby, one of the waitress there. Regardless of how busy she is, she will open the door for her customers when they come in and when they leave. Even if she is juggling with plates and glasses, she will definitely make an effort to. It is Karma Kettle's privilege to have her on their team!!!
Although some of the decor is a bit country but it's heart warming and cozy. Makes you feel at ease and settled down. It's one of those place that you can hang out and chit chat for hours. I especially luv those hand drawn paintings on the walls. You can still see the pencil lines on it.
Their chai latte is thumbs up! Any table that has it will make the whole room so fragrant and makes you want to order one too, hehe!
It's one of my favourite restaurant!

Slightly heavy for an after-work movie but definitely much better than Rendition nonetheles. Again, Meryl Streep's active is flawless!

With the closure of the library, suddenly there are a lot of decorations and messages left by the public - a way of expressing their joy and sorrow for the closure of Orchard Library.
“A piece of art is not a loaf of bread. When someone steals a loaf of bread from the store, that's it. The loaf of bread is gone. When someone downloads a piece of music, it's just data until the listener puts that music back together with their own ears, their mind, their subjective experience. How they perceive your work changes your work.”
There are all sorts of drawings there and all languages too - Chinese, Korean, etc. My fave one is this - simple! At first glance, I didn't realize it was actually a paintain until I stepped back and realize it in a big picture. Click here for the flickr sets of pics.
I also like the mini love notes that the public put up:
For all the efforts that the staff from Orchard Library did to commemorate the closure, I am amazed as well as impressed and I really need to applaud their creativity. Who would hv think all these would be done just because a library is closing?

If it is not for Meryl Streep, I would hv walked out of the cinema. Her performance is, as usual, excellent! The film follows a Babel-like format with various smaller stories from various parts of the world that all intertwines together. Eventhough this single strong story has its thousand sides, the movie is very slow (yawn!) even when it is ending.
In certain parts of the world, violence may be an everyday event. One thing I take from this movie is that I'm blessed with a comfortable and violence free life, which I'm thankful for.

Thanks to a very good fren of mine, I got to know this awesome place! It has been my officially physical peace and serenity. Eversince a couple of frens and I took up on their promotional pkg, I hv been yearning for their massage to relieve the stress and the strain on my body, especially my shoulders.
With its lush greenery and frensh air, it's hard to believe I'm in Singapore. The best time to go is late afternoon where the breeze would soothe yr face while you are soaking in the outdoor Jacuzzi.
Eventhough my favourite masseuse is not working in this branch anymore, the spa experience never fails to rejuvenate me.
Highly recommended!

I know this sounds crazy but I miss my Orchard Library already.
It is only this one that means so much to me. Well, partly because it's near my home and in the centre of town but mostly it is because it is my refuge - literally.
More than a year ago, I was jobless for more than six months. With constant expenses and no family around, I became demoralized and extremely stressed - especially when you hv a lot of free time, yr mind will just roam around on silly things! You would just wake up every day, sending resume and searching for vacancies online. Life became so mundane and routine and questions like "What hv I been doing all my life?" started to pop up.
Counting every penny and cents, my entertainment slowly diminished. I gave myself a deadline that if I still didn't manage to get a job in Singapore, I will go back to Hong Kong and start all over again. Well, it's not like I had never done it before but if you hv live in a few places in yr life, you would know starting all over again in a place isn't easy. It takes time and effort, even if it's the place you grew up in.
With that mindset, I still try my best to land myself a job. That was one of the lowest period in my life. Friends, family, Internet and a small part of Orchard Library did the rescue. I used to just hang out in Orchard Library (mostly because of the location and the cozy atmosphere) and browse through books on the topics of resume and interviews coz I wanna know which part of my resume and interviews had gone wrong. Picked up some very good tips and revamp my whole resume! Soon enough, I landed on the job that I'm still in right now, which I am still very grateful for.Other times, I would browse through books on cooking. Not because I can cook (Not even the countless books in Library can't help me!) but because I'm a foodie - proudly declared foodie! I can't function well without food. And sleep too but mostly without food, hehe.
Most of the time during my jobless period, my indulgence is in Garfield comic books and DIY cards and crafts. I can stay hours reading them, especially DIY stuff. Actually, inspired me to do a few simple ones for my frens and family during their birthdays and festive! I would roam around books one these two categories and dashed to my favourite spot to consume in my indulgence.
Now that I'm working just above the library, I would still go to my favourite spot during lunch break every now and then. My office isn't exactly a quiet one. So, escaping to a serene and peaceful place for just few minutes is paradise already. On bad days at work, I would hv a quick lunch and buried myself with Garfield to cheer me up. Usually, it does the trick because it pulls you away from yr work and reminds you once again that life is not all abt work and not only abt work. At the end of the day, if this job doesn't satisfy you, there is always another one - may be not in the same country but definitely in this world! You won't starve to death.
A library doesn't mean anything to me but Orchard Library does! It has a sentimental value to me. I luv it because it helped me what I had gone through, time and time again, especially at one of the low periods in my life. I will miss it very, very much and from the bottom of my heart, I wish the closure will never come! Hicks!

I hv been complaining abt my old phone since forever now. It has been given me more problems than blessings. I had to restart the phone each and every day (yes, you hear that right!) just to detect the network in certain places. Some sent messages were not sent at all (but status was sent) and some messages that are supposed to be received, were not received at all.
Friends hv been screaming to my ears to just get a new phone - any new mobil phone. But I want to wait for a good one, a perfect one, one that I can fall in love with and not dump it when a new model of any brand launches in the future.
Since my mobile contract has already expired and Starhub is afraid that I would run away to other service providers (which I did intend to), they hv been sending me vouchers for the past few months just to recontract with them again.
So voila, with the renewal of the contract and $100 vouchers, a very good fren of mine has generously bought me a earlier Birthday present today - O2 Zinc !!!! I hv got a new toy to play, yeay!!!
Although it is not as user friendly as Sony Ericsson and Nokia, I hv come around and get used to it. I specifically love and I mean LOVE the slide-out QWERTY keyboard. My short and chubby fingers aren't really that quick in sms-ing and the slide-out QWERTY keyboard helps A LOT!!!
Believe it or not, I was eyeing one of Dopod's slide-out QWERTY keyboard phones earlier this yr but because of some bad user reviews, I dropped my wishes. I can't believe I am having one right now!
I'm so thankful and feel so blessed for this! Hippieeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!
