Givenchy

Pondered by = Christine =

The new cabin interior of Singapore Airlines' Boeing 777-300 extended range and Airbus A380 features soft finishing and amenities design exclusively from Givenchy.

A lil bird told me that the air fares includes the cost of the pillows, blankets, spoons, forks, meal tray you get the idea.

And that leaves me no guilt when I took the blanket home and it is so, so, soooooooooooo soft that I can't stop rubbing my legs to and fro against it!

Aaaaaaawwwwwwwwww, makes me wanna jump onto bed whenever I walk into the room! Hehe!

Human alarm clock

Pondered by = Christine =

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !!!!!!!!!!!

Haven't been hving a good sleep since last night, ever since a human clock stormed into the room every 1-2 hr early in the morning before sun even rises, announcing the time and that we would be late for work before my very own alarm clock even went off!!!

Finally told the human alarm clock off nicely and with some free clothes given to his wife as gifts (ehem, consider as bribery? Haha!), I hv my peaceful morning back and wake up in the usual, comfortable silence.

Nothing beats the day with a good start!!

Argh, shopping!

Pondered by = Christine =

Argh, shopping! This is the first time I say this but shopping can be fun but not when you are doing it for necessity.

Walking from store to store and can't find that one thing that you really need, that's frustrating! And for all you know, I thought it was the most basic thing that anyone should hv in their closet and finding just few pieces of it shouldn't be that hard.

Boy, was I wrong! Very wrong!! Finding a pair of Jeans that you love ain't so easy after all. But I'm glad I found 2 new ones and it's really time to throw the ... let's just called it 'antique' ones.

Most delicious steak ever !

Pondered by = Christine =

Had the most yummilicious steak ever to date! Not to mention the easy-to-cook crispy yet juiciest veggies!! Unfortunately, it doesn't look very appealing, don't say I don't warn you. But its taste is smacking!!!

The housemates hv decided to whip up some simple meals on this holidays and it turned out pretty well.

= Steak =
Ingredients:

1 Onions
3 Eggs (Yes, you read me right! Steak with egg)
Soya sauce
Butter
Red wine
2 Steak fillet

Recipe:
1. Marinate the steak with 2 tablespoon of soya sauce and all the onions dumped in. Leave it for at least 2-3 hrs.

2. Melt the butter and throw in the onions (from the marinated steak) when it simmers.

3. As the onions turn brown, throw in the steaks and add soya sauce and red wine.

4. Depending on your preference (medium done, fully done), when it's almost done, beat the egg and cook it for another 1 -2 minutes. Let the egg soak in all the juicy sauce.

= Grilled veggies =
Ingredients:
Baby sweet corn
Baby tomatoes
Asparagus
Carrots
Capsicums

Recipe:
1. Wash and cut all the ingridients
2. Seasoned with garlic salt, pepper and sesame sauce
3. Grill for 20 minutes

Though our first attempt on the steak is much better, the meal left me on a very, very satisfied note - nodding and licking my lips. Yum!

Thank you, zebra and Panci!!

Jumbo Seafood Restaurant

Pondered by = Christine =

Byrs are in town and that means a good meal out on company's expense!

Though the atmosphere is a lil tense (due to office politics, what's new, eh?), the food is quite good, not superb, but quite good. Under a laid back open air table with the view of the sea along the East Coast Parkway, we had a feast under the stars last night in Jumbo, one of the Singapore home grown seafood restaurant since 1987.

We ordered the signature dishes - chilli crab and black pepper crab (Two rounds of both versions!) and specifically requested for Sri Lankan crabs as these crustaceans are heavier than their local cousins. Plus, their flesh is also sweeter. Though the fiery and sweet egg gravy sauce soaked up with the fragrant fried Chinese bread "Man Tou" is delicous, I would much perfer the black pepper crab in all times.

We also had fried taro with scallop, fluffy tofu with mushrooms, traditional satay, drunkard prawns, crispy baby squids, fried rice and of course veggies. Although I'm sure there are a few more dishes we ordered but I figured if I can't remember them, they are most probably not that good and impressive.

One of the frustrations is that the customer services are very slow and inefficient. But at the end of the day, who cares when you are busy eating some of the best food in town?

Gratitude Journal

Pondered by = Christine =

It caught my attention when I flipped through one of Orpah Magazine.

Life has its good times and also has its bad times that may hit you rock bottom. And it is at those times that it's very important for you to keep your sanity. So, the idea of recording 5 things that you are grateful for each day really makes sense. And the next thing I know, I got myself a nice lil book and make it my very own Gratitude Journal.

I had started 1 month ago (Yay, Happy 1 month Anniversary!) and I can feel the difference. Things at work is not always perfect so coming back home, reflecting before you sleep of what to be thankful for keeps me right in track. It gives me a better perspective of mind (even before the day begin) the next day and the next day and the next day ...

I find it a very good habit to keep and thanks to Oprah, who suggested it. I highly recommend this to anyone, be it that you are in a bed of roses or in agony.

If Gratitude Journal doesn't do for you, check it out here for some ideas on some other kind of journals you can write.

Complaint Free Bracelets

Pondered by = Christine =

The zebra told me about this amazing idea she saw from one of the newsletters she subscribed to.

Life on earth is never perfect and I used to think complaining is just a logical way out. Throughout the years, sisters and good frens hv reminded me again and again how blessed my life is and how wonderful life can be. It has contributed to a better person of me today.

So, you can't imagine my joy when I heard this idea that a church in Kansas City, US has started - to make a commitment of no complaining, criticizing, gossiping or using sarcasm for 21 days. And to make sure you are in track, you wear the little purple wrist bands as a reminder of their pledge. If you fail before the 21st day comes, you take off the bracelet and switch it to the opposite wrist and start counting the days after from scratch.

It may be frustrating if you hv to keep switching again and again. And yes, it takes effort but it is a good awareness for a start of how often we complain, even when we don't realize it at all! And to top it all, Christ Church Unity is sending the wristbands for FREE not only around US, but WORLDWIDE!

I don't normally wear rubber wristbands but with such meaningful purposes, how can you refuse? The zebra has ordered a few for our frens and I can't wait for mine to come !!!

I may be naive to say this but thanks to this little idea, the world is on its way to becoming a more positive place.

The Number 23

Pondered by = Christine =

It is my curiosity with the fact that my birthday falls on 23 that pushes me to watch this movie.

The main test of a twisty thriller is: would you watch it again? Sadly to say, I won't - not even a minute. However, it teaches me that most paranoia exists because you look for it.

It leaves me on the note of just "Oh" - O= 15 and H= 8 and adding that up gives ...
