Izzit weird that I felt truly happy for Jennifer Hudson who won the supporting actress of Academy Awards 11 hours ago?
No, I didn't know her personally.
No, I ain't related to her.
No, I am not paid to write this.
But I just feel happy. Not for me, for her. Genuinely happy.

Went over to Alger's house in Sengkang and had a board games day!
Turned out to be even more fun that I thought it would be. Had steamboat over lunch and got to know a new group of frens. Interesting people.
It wasn't those common board games that I grew up with or even heard of. We played "Bang!", a card game that I had to admit, with all the rules and conditions, the game itself is very innovative and with such a big group of us, fun is guaranteed!
We also played "Mall of horror", which at first glance seems brutal but once you get the hang of it,

What a fun nite, eh, morning...
Just gotten to know these group of girls but I'm already at ease and comfortable. Went to Swee Lan's place and had delicious dinner and some great laughs! With some music from Il Divo and some other Jazzies.
We did one thing that the nerdy side of me hv secretly love and hv been longing to do - Puzzles! 1000 pcs, 12 hands and 2.5 hours - 90% done! Is that fast or what? It was a relef that we hv to leave for our midnite movie when only the mono color pieces left.
After the show, went for supper at Bedok Simpang and chatted till 3.30 AM. Was a zombie by the time we had our last piece of prata.
No, the nite didn't involve alcohol. Those stages of my life has long passed. But yes, I had a great time and oh yeah, luv every minute of it!
Thomas Harris, a great author of many books especially the following books below who brings us to the journey how the Killer and also the cannibal character that we hate to love - Hannibal Lecter, is not born, but made. Movies can't paint a picture a book can. If you luv the movie, the books are guaranteed to be better! If you remember how gruesome "The Silence of The Lambs", Hannibal Rising is nothing, though there are scenes where you would hear female audiences gasps and "softly" shrieks.

Okay, may be the latter is slightly violent and over the edge but you get the idea. And this movie is just the movie with such quality.
Her acting is very intense and perfect. The cast is perfect except Bill Nighy, whose amusing image from Love Actually I can't get off my mind.

Dreamgirls is not just a movie. It is a broadway legend and was initially called Big Dreams, which was written by Tom Eyen and Henry Krieger.Although Jennifer Hudson, who is the runner up of American Idol Season 3, is the supporting role but I truly think her powerful and soulful voice overshadow or even overshines the main actress - Beyonce!
My fave scene where she sings "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going". Her bitter anger and desperation just seeps through the screen. You can feel her pain, as you watches her sing.
This movie is an immensely satisfying and entertaining. But the again, I luv musicals so I'm totally biased here, warn you!
Nevertheless, my all time favourite is still Chicago - nothing can beat that!

It touches my heart and at the same time, anchors itself deep inside my mind as an encouragement of courage, preseverance and gratitude.
No, it's not the recent news. Infact, the incident was 8 years ago. A split second changed her life forever.
"Early on Sunday morning September 19, 1999, Jacqui - then 20 years old - and four friends were on their way home from a birthday party. Reggie Stephey, an 18-year-old high school student, was on his way home from drinking beer with some buddies. On a dark road on the outskirts of Austin, Texas, Reggie's SUV veered into the Oldsmobile carrying Jacqui and the others. Two passengers in the car were killed at the scene and two were rescued.
Within minutes, the car caught fire. Jacqui was pinned in the front seat on the passenger side. She was burned over 60% of her body; no one thought she could survive. But Jacqui lived. Her hands were so badly burned that all of her fingers had to be amputated. She lost her hair, her ears, her nose, her left eyelid and much of her vision. She has had more than 50 operations since the crash and has many more to go.
In June 2001 Reggie Stephey was convicted of two counts of intoxication manslaughter for the deaths of Jacqui’s two friends. He was sentenced to seven years in prison and fined $20,000."
If I had read it on the web, it would hv been another piece of tragic news in the world. But watching the interview of Jacqui on Oprah made me teared. A good and detailed recap of the episode has been blogged by a dear friend.
Personally, I still hv frens who is out there that has a few drinks and yet still drive. If you are one of them, I think the message is pretty loud and clear - Don't drink and drive.

It wasn't an easy task at all. It's just as a brainteaser as it is for the creators themselves! It stretches your vocabulary and even more, yr creativity of linking the words to our frens.
This is our first attempt so forgives us for the tiny little mistakes, which the Engieer at one glance spotted it! She and her job hazards !!!
Putting on their thinking caps, we had it over coffee late at nite. Surprisingly, they know more abt each other than themselves. It was so hilarious seeing them discover the answers one by one. Had such a great time ever!
Pic - A snapshot of our masterpiece. (For the confidentiality of B & K, the hints are not revealed! They will sure kill us if we publish it here out loud, haha!)
Sun & water can never go wrong - be it by the beach or by the pool.Had the afternoon by the pool today. Swam a couple of laps and read a few chapters. I fell asleep when the heat from the sun (though I'm under a big shady trees. Note: I don't fancy suntans) was "drying" me after coming out from the pool drippingly wet.
Lying by the pool makes me realize how long I hv not been in touch with nature. The green in nature is so much more beautiful than the green you see on yr screen or the scenery photo you hv it up yr office cubicle.
The experience never fails to freshen me up. Just luuuvvvvv it!

Few yrs ago, the name Dopod is a foreign name to me.
But look at it now, it's practically everywhere! Though it is a relatively new player in the industry, Dopod has managed to acquire the support of High Tech Computer (HTC), who is the largest PDA manufacturers.
Dopod 838 Pro is said to be one of the best product from Dopod to date. My favourite features is the QWERT keyboard that stylishly slides out from underneath the screen. It is also small and compact with Wi-Fi connectivity as well as Bluetooth A2DP Stereo. Additionally, it is the first PDA phones with Window Mobile 5.0 operating system.
Sounds good, eh? Well, they are marketing and advertising campaigns, they are supposed to! I was personally very shocked, as I heard a personal testimonial of the phone from a friend and found similar stories after googling it online.
I guess for now, I will still cling on and cherish my dear phone.

Yunnan Garden Restaurant looks like an ordinary Chinese restaurant, eh?
Wait till you hear their history. They started in 1970's, not as a restaurant but as a cafetaria to students and lecturers at Nanyang University in Singapore. With the help of word of mouth, its business is blooming and soon diversified to specialize in local seafood, cantonese cuising, HK dim sum and wedding banquets.
It is now located at one-North, NTU Alumni Club. Under the award winning Hong Kong Chef Lam Kin Ming, their dishes is indeed fresh and exquisite, except the Dim Sum (which is weird, considering the chef is from Hong Kong).
Nevertheless, the Prosperity Salmon Yu-Sheng, is the freshest and the best I ever had to this date. The sauce is not too sweet or too thick. The ingredients, especially the ginger are so fresh that you can taste its slightly sweetish and aromatic flavor at the tip of your tongue. Perhaps, pics blw doesn't justify its heavenly taste but as the sayings goes - Don't judge a book by its cover!
We also had half of the Peking duck, where they cut the most delicious parts (crispy skin and little meat) and wrapped in delicate crepes, coated with sweet plum sauce and cucumber as well as shallots. We chose to stir fry the left over duck with some other stuff and served in cabbage leaves.
The meals left all of us on a satisfied note. Very satisfied note.
Thanks to Kam who highly recommends this!

I discovered the weirdest thing in one of my toilet trips today. It just grossed me out even as I'm typing this, bleh!
I had been going to the same toilet for months now but I guess, thanks to the cleaner who cleaned it today that gave that extra shine and sparkle on the marble tiles.
You know, you do the usual stuff once you close the door and as I was gazing, I caught something moving on the floor. No, it's not an insect. I would thank God if it is in this case. It is a shadow, rather, a reflection of the person in the next cubicle.
Let me declare this loud and clear first before any . I ain't no Peeping Tom.
Okay, now, back to the tales. What I saw the next moment was the utter grossest thing I hv ever seen. Did I mention that even as I'm typing this, I feel like bleh-ing that disgusting taste in my tongue out in the air !?!
She was licking and sucking each and every of her fingers and nails inches by inches, or worse cm by cm! If any of you is creative enough in analyzing this, pls tell me why she does that. Not once but over and over again.
As I was walking out of my cubicle, something struck me.
Let me give you a scenario. Jane Doe had diarrhoea and do an urgent big "business" during the day in the office. After she wipes & cleans herself and flushes the toilet, she touches the knob and opens the door. With so many Jane Doe in and out within a day, do you think the door knob itself is clean?
And this grossy Jane Doe just sit there and practically licks each and every Jane Doe's germs into her system!(Perhaps, it tastes good and keeps licking!? Bleh! Argghhh...)
And do you know that the number of germs on your fingertips DOUBLES after you use the toilet?
Bleh, bleh, bleh !!! And worse of it is, I recognize this grossy Jane Doe's shoes. Black, pointy, low cut flat shoes with white pokka dot on black satin box at the side. Now, I can't help but keep looking down south whenever I'm in a lift, photocopier, water dispenser, lobby or just simply at people passing by my desk!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I'm going mad in the office !!!!!!!!!

Slow. Average acting. Lousy script.
But one thing I luv is the narrating part, it describes each scene beautifully, though it seems to hv more naratting in the beginning only. This movie is based on a novel by Tom Perrotta. In my opinion, movies that are based from books can never be better than the books itself. Reading it is an experience and your imagination adds up the spice and bring you into another world that a movie just simply can not.Despite of that, a question lingers in mind:
Under the normal routine of your daily life, do you actually feel alive?
I hv been noticing Hossan Leong long time back and I'm so proud of him hving his own show! And was even surprised that Selena Tan was the Executive Director. His multi talents, be it in language, acting and even vocal enable him to portray all the madness of each and every character such as Barry Moneylow, Whitney Whoseturn, Kenny Rogered Chicken, etc.
This one show is so hilarious that my jaw was aching from laughter when leaving Drama Centre Theatre. His show was so good that it was extended, get your tickets here before it's too late! Thumbs up!!
With such succes, I hv no doubt that there will be a part II !
Personalities from left bottom clockwise: Prince, Cher, Whitney Houston, Barry Manilow, Kenny Roger.
