Another catch up I did with a fren whom I hvn't meet since 2001. Made some new frens along the way.
Over chicken porridge, it's like marathon conversation.
Phew!
And yes, it was a good marathon.

Though being a Chinese, I can't help but feel irritated with the the lion dances near by.
Not the magnitude of the noise but the frequency of it. From one house to the other, you still hear them as loud.
Guess you juz had to remind urself that some people do depend on it to bring meals to their homes and afterall, it is only once a year.
Oh well.
Had lunch with an old fren, whom I hvn't meet
for over a year and had dinner with another good fren, whom I hvn't meet for more than a month.
A warm, cozy feeling has never failed to fill me after a good and hearty catch up with good frens.
Chit chatted the whole afternoon and talked non-stop for 6 straight hours over dinner, desserts & cappuccino gave me a "sandy" voice today.
*** Move yr mouse over and the fish will follow you obediently
* Two things I finally understand today:
1. I finally understand why Singaporeans eat bakwas during CNY. It's juicy, it's bite size (not practical for those of u that had gotten the big piece ones). You don't realize how much you eat until you look at the container.
2. I finally understand why some of the people would prefer to stay in Spore during CNY. You would not love Orchard more than any time of the year. It's so much less crowded and spacey. Though not all shops are opened, I think that's the optimal population to create a relax wkend. Afterall, there are always 24 hr cafes like Swensens and Coffee Club.
* One resolution down
Made some new frens today. In fact, a good lot of them. Varies from my age to double mine. I didn't know mingling with Aunties can make you rolling on the floor, holding your tummy from laughter, man!

First time I spent Chinese New Year (CNY) in Spore alone.
Tot I would hv to stay at home and watch TV initially but at the courtesy of the Tangs, I was 'adopted' this year.
Didn't bring camera but let me paint the picture through words. We had steam boat of MUSHROOMS, veggies, fish & beef balls, fish, prawns, abalone, hoi sum, beef, tofu skin and "Five Spice" roll.
The soup is smackingly sweet with the mushroom aroma, slowly evaporating from the pot. The mashed meat in the roll is not only juicy but also tasty.
And to top it off, the warmth of a family was extended to a 'lost child' in a foreign land, there is nothing more one can ask for during CNY this year!
Filled with such nutritious food (not to mention plenty of them), we walked from Bedok South to Upper East Coast Road through a row of semi detached houses on Sennett Road, where a fren told us tales of a python that used to roam around on trees as well as pedestrian roads and finally ran over by a car, flat on the road. Then, to the Bedok Jetty in East Coast park via a tunnel from Bay Shore Park, where we walked through Bayshore Road, passing Costa Del Sol Condo.
A long walk, indeed, but a continuous and hearty conversation would take your mind away from the lethargic on ur feet. Sitting at the jetty, cool breeze blowing and catching up with good frens really made you wanna stay there forever.
Guyz, you all really made my CNY memorable! =)

Zebra came up with its philosophy today.
"Just like all hair is growable, all things are solvable"
Hmmm .......

Had the first Yu Sheng this year for dinner tonite at one of my fave restaurant.
Seems like a ritual now to hv it in the same restaurant with the same companion over the years, which makes you realized how fast time flies.
Another year is gone and a new one has aririved!

It's weird how just a touch would give you such goose bumps.
Yet ...
it feels magical.

Life has its mojo.
In moments when you think you know it all, its mojo will kick you and remind you of what you had forgotten.
Sometimes good, sometimes bad. Sometimes happy, sometimes sad.
Realizing it excites me for the next moment of life to come.

Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by David Auburn, I rated 2 out of 5.
Nevertheless, you can sense Catherine's (Gwyneth Paltrow) despair jumped outta the screen, when no one in the world trusted her, not even her lover and her only family - her sister.
Is proof really needed for trust to be gained?
Hmmm....

A glance of it mesmerizes me.
A second look, it deserves.
And of coz, it's a good ad, I hv to say.

Swollen cheek made me do a lot of things.
1. Wake up in the middle of the nite
2. Forever sleeping sideways facing my right
3. Pushing down tasteless porridge down my throat
4. Pause during conversation to swallow down excessive saliva
5. Countless attempts to pronounce certain words properly
Isn't life just sweet?

Another wisdom tooth surgery I had today.
The worst so far. And the last.
A PA was needed to suck out the blood, as Dr. Wong is operating on the impacted tooth.
Blood was spurting out to my face and her white coat.
Blood sight, it surely is.

Indeed, it is true when one had lost everything, one have also gain many.
The 'donation' of my wallet today had made me realized that the art of detachment has been in me all this while, even if it is the only one wallet I had kept unused for so many years.
Life is just full of surprises, eh?

A great reminder 2005 has given me.
And for that, I am thankful, 2005.
